Used Lorie Davison's Poet's Keepsake. This is my new favorite kit. It is just so pretty and so..so.. poetic. I am not on her CT nor associated with SBG or any store. It really is so pretty.
Here's a layout using her gorgeous kit. The chrome alpha is mine.

Resolutions Kit

The inspiration for this kit is the New Year. Time for a fresh start, a clean slate, with new resolutions to make and some old ones to renew.

The palette is fresh and cheery.

Included are 20 backgrounds, over 70 elements, 10 paint splats and strokes, and over 15 word art, and full acrylic alpha.

Day at the Zoo

I'm adding Day at the Zoo for purchase. This kit has been the most requested since March. :)
There are 6 downloadable files and they're rather larger.

Here's a zoo kit for all those zoo and animal park photos that are waiting to be scrapped.

I was itching to do some scrapping today but didn't have much mojo so I worked on one of my favorite challenges, the monthly desktop challenge. I love covering my screens with all the pretty elements and of course, some photo of my favorite people in the whole world.

I want to thank everyone for their support this month. I've had a wonderful time guesting at ScrapbookGraphics. In my personal experience, this site has the most amazing designers, not only in their creative work, but they are the most wonderful and warm group of people. I'm feeling a little inspired tonight and had a little fun. Just a little different direction than the last couple of kits. :)

This is a mini kit with basic backgrounds inspired by the Altered Art genre. These backgrounds contain textures often seen on altered art pages. They are meant to be a starter for your altered art project. Fill them up and print for digital altered art or create hybrid projects by printing the background/elements and then layer, paint, glue, let go of the rules and have some fun. Includes a couple of cracked layers that can be used to give your photos or elements some extra character.

Includes 5 backgrounds, 1 frame, 1 tape, 1 journal piece, 1 clip, 1 word art, and 2 cool cracks, one more subtle than the other.

I am excited to announce that I will be a guest designer at ScrapbookGraphics this month (August). Just a Hello

Hello everyone! It is so odd to not be designing, but I have to admit, some of the extra free time is heaven sent. I just installed Photoshop CS5. It's just the trial version and I have to decide soon whether to purchase it or not. To be honest, I'm not exactly thrilled with it. My system is blazing fast with tons of horsepower and almost the max RAM yet...it's painfully slow. What am I doing wrong?

A mother duck decided to nest in our backyard. There are seven eggs in her nest and my kids check up on the momma and babies each morning and evening. She's not afraid of them either. She just looks up at them when they come by but basically ignores them as they get closer and yell 'hi!' and other silliness.

Hiatus from Designing and Coupon

But there are personal and family matters that require my full attention at this time. I do not want to retire from designing but I will be taking a hiatus for a few months.

SongBird Charity Kit - Port Au Prince

Songbird Avenue is a special digital scrapbook site dedicated to charity kits. Over the years, this organization has raised over $42,000 to various charities. At the end of each month, you can find the total raised for that past month's charity.

This month's digital scrapbooking kit is for the benefit relief in Haiti. All proceeds from February will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. I am truly honored to be a part of this wonderful (and huge) collaboration.

Frameworthy Challenge at ScrapbookGraphics (Jan 11-17)

This week's Frameworthy Challenge is very interesting! I don't want to spoil it for you so please check on this link to go to the forum and read Nevermore's post. I was very intrigued so here's my layout. It makes more sense if you know what the challenge is.

This is a little bit different for me as I am not really a white space or even rectangle photo scrapper. I love lots of elements and large photos. However, it's fun to mix it up sometimes. :)

My Sweet Tooth

I am going to do some enabling here. I am not on Holliewood's CT (not that I would mind one bit! LOL) but I love her kits. They are packed with fun sometimes funky realistic elements. I saw this last night and needed to buy it. In some sick way, it satisfied my sweet tooth... at least digitally. I'm craving cupcakes right now though...

My kids were having their after dinner dessert as I was downloading this (chocolate pudding Popsicles). Their mouths were covered with chocolate and they both looked well a little ew lol but I grabbed my camera and starting taking pictures. I was already in the middle of downloading the perfect kit for the new photos! There are big chocolate chunks in the preview. Yummm..mmeee!

Does that count as Serendipity? Maybe a stretch? LOL

Itinerary #2

This serves two purposes. The first being this is my second layout for the Art Journal Caravan. Wow, maybe I will be able to get at least 52 layouts done for my book. The second purpose being, this is an example of one of the papers in my new Altered Inspired Mini Kit.

I have always been a worry bee. I worried about everything since I was a child, and I thought maybe I would outgrow it, but no... it got worse when I had my children. The world feels like it is in such disarray right now. What will my children's futures be like? How can I keep their nightmares away? Crime scares me. War scares me. The economy scares. What if someone gets really sick? What if I lose my job? What if something bad happens? What if someone gets hurt? What if I forgot to lock the doors?

All these fears and bad thoughts lurking in my head. It's manifested itself many times in my dreams...more like nightmares.

So this is what this page is for me.

Do you like the layered look but want to save time instead of wading through so many elements? Here's a simple layered cluster I created from the Resolutions kit. Please note that it is already shadowed.

I was working on my first itinerary for the Art Caravan and browsed the ScrapbookGraphics gallery. I came upon this gorgeous layout by Birgit Kerr. I fell in love with the symbolism in it. Just wanted to share this with you.

The word I chose for the first Itinerary is SAVOR. This year I hope remember to savor each moment.

I know this is a journal about me and this page is really scrappy, but the word I chose is mostly for my family. My boys are growing up so fast and I am always so busy with my job, my scrapping, figuring out what to do for dinner, keeping up with appointments and plans, and on and on that I just do not stop and savor the moment. It is fun to watch videos or look at photos, but I need to SAVOR THE MOMENT not look back on it only.

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. Ring out the old and ring in the new. It felt like 2009 quietly slipped out, not with a bang like years past. Maybe it's just at my house? But 2010 crept in so quietly that I almost did not realize it. May this be a wonderful and prosperous year for you. Here's to good health and the warmth of friends and family.

So of course, I have to start with some resolutions! I put together a little kit called, Resolutions, that will be released next week.

It's sad to think that some of these I have made year in and year out. Perhaps this is the year? I put a new one this year, it's to "Follow Through!"

I know, another photo on a journal. I can't help it. I like these types of layouts. Hehe.

What a weekend! My son's 6th birthday party was this Saturday and organizing events for 20 or so kids plus their parents was no easy feat! But PHEW my husband and I managed to pull it off and we're still standing. It's actually not that bad but twice a year is pretty much all I can handle.

I found these wonderful layouts and ideas on the ScrapbookGraphics Gallery today from our awesome Studio Crew.

Art Journal Caravan

I am very intrigued (and intimidated and excited all at once) with the Art Journal Caravan by Tangie Baxter and Amanda Sexton. It's a 52 week commitment and I cannot do quirky for the life of me but I don't think that's a style requirement. It's meant to incorporate your own style.

I read this in the frequently asked questions section and it is what draws me to this amazing project.

"Why Did You Start This Project?
For me the mission in this is to teach people that while leaving behind a family scrapbook of everyday family activities and memories like Christmas traditions and outings to the zoo are exceptionally important...I feel it's AS IMPORTANT to leave behind a legacy of who "we really are" through our art journals-our children, our families want to know what we feared, what we loved, what we dreamed...it's a treasure beyond price. Autumn Leaves Layout

I'm scrapping again.. in between the kids being sick, deadlines at work, and well, at least I could put off the housework for now. Who wants a super clean house when they can have layouts done! Sometimes it's the only way I can unwind. Tuck the kids into bed, have a warm cup of tea, cozy up on the couch, and scrap away. It really is my only way to relax a bit from these last few hectic days.

I hope you're finding a way to relax as well. It is important to have some "me" time to maintain some sanity.

Sneak Peek

How about a little sneak peek? Coming out by Friday. These previews are not so great. The image service I am using shrinks them to a smaller size and sometimes it ends up looking funny. I'll come back and repost better images when I have uploaded them to the server.

This is the last of the monthly kits so I wanted to include lots and lots of items. Not everything is shown here because I can't fit it all. There is a beautiful overlay that is not shown plus a huge window. Elements include icicles, a border of icy snow (cool stuff), and lots of goodies. Great for simple fantasy layouts and traditional scrap pages. There are at least 20 papers, 100 elements, calendars (including January 2010 quick page calendar cd case size, why not!), and overlay.

Candy Cane Alphas

November Desktop

I don't have very many updates this week, but I wanted to share a couple of layouts that I've worked on.

I love making desktops! This one is made with Autumn's Kiss & those 2010 stamps I was giving away at DSD. I distressed the stamp.

It looks a little dark on the small sample but I love how it actually looks on my laptop. I can see all the details. Desktops are a fun, small, and leaves me feeling like "I finished something" lol.

I actually finished one layout this week too (Yay!).

DSD Challenge 1

I think I'm going to be trying out various challenges for DSD, maybe even do some store challenge hopping. I need some inspiration! :)

Here's the first one I finished. I was supposed to use an Impressions of collab, but I didn't read the instructions first.. Fortunately, it's from my kit so I am okay to use it. I asked myself for permission and I gave myself permission. UM yeah. I must be high from all the DSD shopping today!

Here's my tumbler. You download the template from Wendy. Link is in the forum post. Then make your page. This took less than 10 minutes. Then you PM her. It's a fun exchange, and great gifts for teachers!

This gorgeous winter beauty (can you believe that winter's almost here!) by Kristi. She always has wonderful photos and such clean design.

Here is one by Tammy. Her layouts always pop out and they feel so bubbly. I think they are an extension of their artist, who is always bubbly and happy.

Lorraine use the calendar page and added this lovely photo as well as some matching embellishments. This is a closeup of November's calendar. Use the calender to place your favorite photos, adorn with elements, and print it for the month. :)

I got the scrapping bug last night and started working on my layout. I can't find the entrance tickets (bummer!) to tuck. Well, I made due with some simple elements. Hopefully it flows. :)

I simply LOVE these new kits from Thao Cosgrove. I used her Life's Binder and Beautiful Life.

I may have already mentioned this, but when I first discovered digital scrapping, I could not really get into it. Then I found Shabby Princess, and oh wow, I was liking it. This was back in 2007 and I was not familiar with any stores. But then I found Thao Cosgrove, and I went from liking it to LOVING it. I think my first kit from her was Affection, and I still really like that kit. I went and bought all her kits at the time. She is still one of my favorite designers. So this is a major shout out to Thao, you rock! Did I forget to mention that she's also a very sweet and kind person?

I wanted to show you this gorgeous desktop calendar by one of the many talented Studio Crew members (they all rock), Bec. I LOVE her monthly desktops. Think I might have to lift this one!

My fave part is the pencil tucked in the journal. That journal is a layered journal to help make your layering a little bit easier. I also love how she used the layered paper that was included. Thanks you so much Bec!

Here are a couple of gorgeous beauties by Leda. I love how she used the card stock. The paper clipped within the circle frame is great!

Leda used the layered journal in this next layout. I really love how she changed the lace from white to gold.

Here is a Prehistoric one by Carin. These are really great photos! She visited a prehistoric forest.

Translation:
La Roc du Cazelle, a prehistoric rock and woods that has the living ituation from the early early days with dolls and sounds. It was a very educational fun day out and the kids loved it!

The September Kit & Calendar is here!

The kit is packed full of papers and elements. In the northern hemisphere, Autumn is here, school has started or will be starting soon, but the weather is still warm. The leaves will soon change color as we hang onto those last moments of summer.

This kit includes

- 19 papers (4 of which are solid card stock like the good old paper scrapping days)

I found this gorgeous layout in the ScrapbookGraphics gallery. It is by daisy. Her gallery is so much fun with a great variety of layouts. This layout caught my attention from the gallery and has that wow factor. It's just so much fun to look at. This is the stuff dreams are made of. :)

That's right, more layouts! :)

I created this for a good friend of mine. This photo was taken literally a minute before she walked down the aisle. I really wanted to make a kit for her and maybe sometime in the future I will get a chance.

Paper and blue flower from my July Kit. Everything else but the journal is from my August kit. The journal is a layered template that will be included in the September kit (not available yet but cool right? lol).

I really hope that she will like it.

I saw this yummy goodness on TheDailyDigi today and really wanted to share it with you. I love short and sweet recipes. It is really tough to get any cooking done when both parents are working full-time, and in my husband's case, more often than not, over 12 hours a day. It's not normal. :)

This is the August Kit and Calendar. August is a transitionary month, as summer comes to an end and Autumn begins in the northern hemisphere. This kit is packed with florals and a variety of elements.
